PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project included the new construction of a three-story, 37,000 square-foot building that houses multiple agencies and departments for the County of Santa Clara and the Vietnamese American community. Services include Social Services Agency, Behavior Health Service Department, Public Health Department, and Health and Hospital Ambulatory Health Service. On the first floor, the main link to the public, a full-service kitchen supporting senior nutrition programs via a large multi-purpose room, and (2) training rooms, lobby, waiting area, triage and consultation rooms, security outpost station, computer lab, restrooms, and a receiving area. The second floor houses a primary care clinic with exam rooms, triage, procedure rooms, staff open office area, consultation offices, waiting area, registration, testing lab, and outpatient pharmacy. The third floor will have additional meeting rooms/classrooms, supervisory care, and a combination of private and open offices to support the staff employed in the facility. The design included Feng Shui design elements which is an important element to the members of the Vietnamese American community. With LEED Silver certification and an all-electric facility that is zero net energy ready the building will be a point of pride for the community. The Service and Operational Model will encompass 5 categories noted as Care & Treatment, Assessment & Testing, Triage & Consultation, Navigation & Access, and Community Engagement. The project involves complex construction in an urban setting, includes a diverse group of Stakeholders and competing needs, and interfaces with multiple departments within a large city agency.
