PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Encompassing nearly 16 acres, Mission Dolores Park is one of San Francisco’s most popular parks, the vibrant heart of its equally vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood. Here you’ll find lush green lawns shaded by tall palm trees, a soccer field, six tennis courts, one basketball court, a playground, a dog play area, and a clubhouse with recreational facilities and public. The project includes Two new restrooms about 1,200sf each, a new 4900sf Operations Building located under the basketball court, Sports Courts will be resurfaced and re-striped, new perimeter fencing and site furniture, the tennis courts will be reconfigured, the basketball court relocated, and a multi-use sports court (primarily for roller hockey and bike polo) will be added. The park will receive a new storm/sewer system, landscaping, irrigation, fencing, paving, drinking fountains, site furnishings, and lighting improvements. An accessible path of travel throughout the park is required. Park-wide landscaping and tree maintenance, including street trees, is included in the scope of the project. Active programmed spaces shall include two formal off-leash dog areas and one or more permitted picnic areas. Repairs to the perimeter retaining wall and sidewalk shall be included in the project scope. Removal of the cage over the 19th St Muni bridge is also included within the project scope.
